Sewing on the train……..dangerous?

Well it might be…….if you happen to be one of the two unlucky people who found the needles that I somehow lost. I can only hope that they weren’t sat on!  A sore bottom would do nothing for one’s work life balance!  On the other hand, from a safety angle, a certain colleague of mine would definitely be espousing the virtues of train travel. He had a terrifying experience on his way to work yesterday………….I’ll fill you in later.

Anyway, I gave the sewing on the train / enhancing work life balance experiment another go and it went swimmingly. It was a beautiful day and there were no school kids which meant an empty train and a guaranteed window seat. The icing on the cake was the train was an ‘all stops’ which meant I had a whole lot more time. And as if that wasn’t enough, I even had the whole seat to myself ……….all the way!

Empty train.light and bright, window seat facing the front......quite a score!

I finished the pillows and ended up completing the project when I came home. And I’m very happy with it. I think in adds a nice touch.

Back to my colleague.

Would  you believe he was attacked by a magpie? It swooped down on him from no where and got him just under the eye! He’s got quite a gash and is lucky it wasn’t his eye. Those magpies are dynamite. When they set their sights on a target there’s no changing their minds……..makes a few loose needles on a train very small fry!
